9/7 Weightloss Wednesday: The Plateau is Over!

9/7 Weightloss Wednesday: The Plateau is Over!

It’s time for Weightloss Wednesday!  This has been an exciting week for me on the weightloss front because after a few weeks of plateauing, the weight is coming off again like it should be.  As of this morning I am 244.4 lbs which means I have lost 155.6 lbs over all and 55.6 lbs so far this year. This means a few things, first of all I can now say that I’ve lost over 155 lbs down.  I just really like hitting those 5 lbs marks, it makes me feel awesome.  Also I feel like I can meet my goal of being under 240 this month which is something I’ve been shooting for what seems like the entire summer.

Diet

So of course I’m eating  LCHF but the biggest wrinkle I’ve added is an Intermittent Fasting protocol that I credit for breaking this plateau.  I eat lunch about 2PM and dinner around 7 and then fast from about 8 to 2 the next day.  This has done 2 things. #1 It has absolutely driven home the power of nutritional ketosis.  If you had told me a year ago that I was going to be able to fast 18 hours a day with no hunger pains I would have told you that you were out of your mind but that’s exactly what happens.  In fact one day this week I had a wedding I had to go to right at my lunch time and so all I had was a little bag of almonds at 2 and planned to eat at the reception afterwards.  As luck would have it, there was not a single thing at the reception I could eat.  It was catered BBQ with that sugary BBQ sauce already on the meat with sides of potato salad and beans.  Even the tea was pre-sweetened.  I ended up having a few pickles and just waiting until dinner to eat.  That level of “calmness” around food is amazing because there would have been a time that I would not have been able to stop myself from cheating “just this once”.  And then #2, it keeps me from those late night snacks that always seemed to plague me.   I know that once 8PM comes, I’m done so I better figure out what I need to eat before then.

Exercise

The big news here is that the muscle strain in my leg is healed so I can do leg stuff at the gym again which is awesome.  And in order to keep that from happening again I downloaded a little 10 minute stretching video and before I ever workout again, I’m going to do some stretching to wake up all those tendons and ligaments in my leg.  Hopefully that will keep these muscle strains from happening ever again.

Everything else is going well.  Don’t forget about the dessert and breakfast recipes ebooks that are now on sale and remember that the 28 Day Challenge starts up this Monday and I would love to see you all there.
