This week I weighed in at 263.4 lbs. Life got pretty busy so I don’t know exactly what I lost this week but the last time I posted a Weightloss Wednesday I was at 269.4 lbs so I’ve lost exactly 6 lbs since the last time I posted like this about 2 months ago.
My goal is to be at about a pound of weight loss per week so I’m a little under that which is a little disappointing. I really wanted to be under 200 lbs by the end of the year but I think a more reasonable goal is something 240 by the end of the year and 200 by next summer.
As for exercise. Man oh man, have I been lazy. I have been working nights and something about that just zaps any motivation to move in any way on my time off. I went back to my old DDPYoga videos and did a few with the goal of doing them 3 times a week and just haven’t done it.
I did DDP for almost 2 years during covid and it was easily the best I ever felt. I took BJJ classes at afte doing that for about a year and my teacher and I were both amazed at how flexible I was in class. They really made a huge difference so I know the benefits, now I need the discipline.
One of the reasons I started doing this blog again was because the biggest leaps I made in my health was when I knew I was going to be accountable to a blogpost every week. Something about knowing I was going to have to be in front of the world and say something about my progress made me more focused so I really need to hold myself to those same standards I had back then.
People ask me what I have learned over the years of doing this and there is quite a bit but one thing stands out. Lose weight as quickly as you can because it gets harder as you get older. You get tired faster, motivation lags and weight doesn’t move as fast as you get older but the good news is that it works regardless of age. Even at 51, I can see things moving as I stay on the path.
