10/31 Weightloss Wednesday: The Trickiest Time of Year

It’s time for Weightloss Wednesday!  My weight is up to 242 lbs.  That’s a big jump over the last week and continues a trend of weight gain for the last month.  Not a great sign and very frustrating for me.

So here’s what happened.  My Mother in Law’s 90th birthday was this weekend and I had a piece of cake and some punch.  Wasn’t a huge piece of cake and wasn’t a ton of punch but it was enough to see that needle creep up a bit.  We are getting into really disturbing territory for my weight because now I’m approaching the mid-240s and this is NOT where I want to be at all.

Not only that but today starts the time of year that is so tough to lose weight.  Over the next 2 months I will have Halloween, Thanksgiving, My Birthday, My Anniversary, My Wife’s Birthday, Christmas, and New Year’s.  Each one of these fraught with it’s own pitfalls and traps that have to be navigated and every time I think “I’ll just cheat a little bit” it turns into 5 lbs on the scale that just won’t come off.

Not only this but I seem to have lost the ability to Intermittently Fast for any length of time.  It used to be nothing to go through my entire shift at work, come home and exercise, and then eat dinner.  Now if I don’t eat a piece of cheese or something on my break, I am ravenous for the second half of my shift and don’t want to exercise when I get home.  I am also more prone to overeat when I do eat.  Something has changed and I’m not sure exactly what it is.

I feel that some aspect of it is mental.  I was so driven and focused to get under 200 lbs that I was willing to put up with almost any level of discomfort to reach it and now I’m not willing to put up with anything.  I am also more prone to small cheats that add up over time.  The only thing I can think to do is go back to tracking everything in my Lose It app but I always have a hard time thinking of that when I eat but I need to get on top of this ASAP.

Enough about me, how did you do this week?  I would love to hear from you, please leave me a comment below!
