This Week in Low Carb News: Butter is Healthy and Vegetable Oils are Bad

Every week I come across a bunch of articles I want to tweet about and comment on and every week I run out of time to do it.  This is my attempt to clear out the open tabs on my browser by putting them all in one place.  Enjoy!

Butter ‘is healthier than the bread you are spreading it on’ – Money quote “The research, published in the journal PLOS ONE, finds that butter consumption is only very slightly associated with total mortality, not associated with heart disease, and actually reduces the risk of type-2 diabetes.” Always nice to see this message get out more and more.

World renowned heart surgeon Dr. Dwight Lundell speaks out on what really causes heart disease – Another heart surgeon that figured out what actually causes heart disease.  Love it!

Watch your waist more than weight, say heart experts – It’s the weight around the midsection that causes the issue!

Mikhaila Peterson – I am currently reading Dr Peterson’s book, 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote for Chaos so I found this post from his daughter about the Carnivore diet very interesting.
