When trying to stay keto it’s often hard to know what is and is not on our menu at restaurants.
Often friends and family invite us out and the worry over what we can eat there begins. Well, not with these guides. With these guides you can eat anywhere and know exactly what you can have without all the hassle.
We look at every restaurant we can find and pick out what’s Sugar Free. Just clink the restaurant name to see the full list.
Don’t forget you can get the ebook with all of these restaurants in one place that you can keep on your mobile device or print out and carry with you making ordering at restaurants and staying keto a breeze.
Here’s the ebook, just click through to learn more…
Applebee’s is one of those restaurants that don’t do a very good job of telling us exactly what ingredients are in their food. They have a menu, and a Nutrition Information list that allows us to kind of guess at the items that either don’t have added sugar or have a limited amount.
Fortunately, there are several things we can know about their menu.
We are looking at what has no added sugar at Arby’s. Unfortunately, Arby’s sauce has sugar which for me is about 90% of the reason I ever went there.
However there are things we can eat here while staying keto. Any place you find like this that has meats to choose from like a barbecue place is a place you’ll be able to easily stay keto.
We will be looking at one of the tastier seafood restaurants around, Bonefish Grill.
Fun fact: Bonefish Grill was the first place I ever ate cedar plank salmon and discovered I didn’t like cedar plank salmon. I mean it makes the fish taste like a plank of cedar! Why is that a good thing?
We are looking at Buffalo Wild Wings! There is a lot to choose from if you like the Traditional Bone-In Wings. The side dishes are a little sparse but at least there is a little salad.
Here’s everything sugar free and keto friendly at Burger King. You can find the full Burger King Menu on their website here.
Until burger places start putting a keto burger on the menu we’ll have to dissect their menu to create our own meals.
Fortunately we can do that at Burger King.
I think the real shocker here is that Chick-Fil-A doesn’t have a sugar free salad dressing on the menu so unless you love dry salad, I would avoid the salad or bring your own dressing from home.
If anyone from Chick-Fil-A ever reads this, this is a huge hole in your menu that really needs to be addressed.
The Chili’s list was very difficult to put together because they did NOT want me to see an ingredients list, all I had access to was the nutritional info.
In fact, I’m not sure why it’s illegal for grocery stores to sell me food without an ingredients list but restaurants don’t have to provide one.
Wow. After compiling this list of What’s Sugar Free at Chipotle, I’m not sure why I don’t eat here more often. Almost NOTHING has added sugar.
The only exceptions are a little Dextrose in the corn tortillas and in stores with a plancha grill, they add a little honey to the chicken and beef marinades.
This week we are looking at the tasty goodness that is Dairy Queen in our What is Sugar Free and Keto Friendly at Restaurants series.
I grew in up in a town that had a Dairy Queen next door to a Dairy Twin and had a Dairy King a little farther down the road. My mom would go to Dairy Twin for drinks because they had Vanilla Diet Coke and then Dairy Queen for food.
Dipping the Texas Toast in the cream gravy was what 10 year old me thought was the very height of fine cuisine.
Dave and Buster’s also presents a difficult challenge because they don’t make an ingredients list available on their website so some of what is below is a best guess.
Fortunately I’ve been doing this for a while so my guesses are pretty good.
As much as I love digging through the menus of different restaurants for my What’s Sugar Free and Keto Friendly at Restaurants posts, I may have bitten off more than I can chew with this one.
There is not a whole lot on the Domino’s Pizza menu that you can eat without sugar and grains. But, I have pulled it all together in one place for you.
I may have found my new favorite breakfast restaurant. A First Watch opened up near me and my wife and I finally found the time to go try them out and I am so glad we did!
The omelets here are amazing, the bacon is crisp and, most importantly, the coffee is incredible. In fact we even got a little to go bag of the coffee grounds so I could enjoy another pot at home.
I have to admit, I was fully committed to the idea that I was never going to be able to darken the door of an IHOP ever again.
I just assumed there was sugar everywhere but as I started looking through their nutritional information I was a little surprised.
Jimmy John’s is relatively new around here, but I have been there and was able to compile a list for you based on their menu.
There are a few issues that you need to be aware of before you head in, though so take note of those.
Fortunately, now that KFC has added their grilled chicken line, it’s pretty easy to stay keto at KFC and if you haven’t had it yet, it’s pretty darn good.
A few years ago I might have told you to steer clear of KFC, but not anymore.
If you came here looking for a long list of all the things you can eat with no added sugar the next time you find yourself at a McDonald’s, you are out of luck,
There is a list though, just not as long as most people would like seeing as how it’s one of the most popular fast food joints.
As always, the salad dressings probably have PUFAs so eat at your own risk.
Olive Garden is a particularly tough nut to crack because they don’t give us ingredients, they do give us some nutritional info which is helpful but the carb counts include the pasta that we aren’t eating.
It was hard but not impossible to put this list together.
I’m not sure when it happened but somehow Outback Steakhouse has become my “go to” steak place.
When we are out and want something tasty with a lot of keto options, I’m always looking for Outback.
One good thing about Panda Express is they were nice enough to give a Nutritional Data sheet that has the carbs and sugar broken out where we can see them.
It’s good that we can see them, but I am not particularly happy with what I was able to find.
Believe it or not, there is quite a few things you can get Ketofied at Pizza Hut because it’s pretty much just the crust you need to watch out for.
There are many options here, I am just waiting for the day one of the pizza places puts a keto crust on their menu.
Since you can now get Cauliflower Mash here, then I bet it’s an awesome place to eat for us ketoers.
I just wish there was a low carb cheddar biscuit!
I have never been to a Ruby Tuesday before but I could have swore it was a burger place but I guess not!
Looks kind of like an Applebee’s or something similar.
I ate here for the first time a few weeks ago, research you know, and while it was a bit challenging to get something I could eat, I have to say that what I got was really good.
If you really try, you can find something to eat at pretty much any restaurant, but my handy ebook: What’s Sugar Free And Keto Friendly At… does it all for you.
It’s the perfect guide to keep with you on your mobile device or print out and carry with you, so you always know what you can eat anywhere you go.
With this guide there’s no more stress and worry when someone invites you to go somewhere, you can check your guide and know exactly what you can have without any worries.
There’s not a whole lot of fast food places I ever want to eat at but on those rare occasions when I’m taking my grandkids out, Sonic is one of those places they really enjoy.
Believe it or not there are things you can eat at Sonic Drive in and still stay keto.
This was an important thing for me to figure out because it always seems like I end up at Starbucks for all kinds of meetings or social events and just black coffee with cream was getting a little old.
There is a lot you can order here and stay keto. This is must have info for coffees, teas, and more we can have at Starbucks.
The nice thing about Subway is you can make almost anything into a salad with oil and vinegar dressing so you have plenty of options.
There are tons of combos and options available for us here.
Having done the research for a lot of these posts, any restaurant that reveals what is actually in their food gets a big thumbs up from me as that is a shockingly uncommon phenomenon.
Wendy’s is another restaurant that does a very good job of telling you exactly what the ingredients are in their food, although it’s kind of buried deep in their site under the “learn” tab.
Still there are things we can eat here and still stay keto.
We are looking at WingStop because I love their wings, especially the Lemon Pepper variety.
Next time you want to go to Wingstop, just whip out this guide and you’ll be set.
